DESCRIPTION:

This web-based training is designed to describe the recommended best practices for deploying RUCKUS access points in conjunction with RUCKUS ICX Switches. The course will provide an overview of the entire network architecture providing wireless connectivity but will focus on device connectivity at the access layer. This includes AP and switch connectivity to RUCKUS management solutions, Power over Ethernet (PoE) operations, VLAN considerations, access security concepts and the monitoring of client connectivity through the infrastructure.

OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe components of wireless network infrastructure
  • Explain how to register devices to network control solutions
  • Describe role of Power over Ethernet in wireless network
  • Give details about role of VLANs in a wireless infrastructure
  • Explain authorization and security for wireless infrastructure
  • Describe how wireless traffic flows through infrastructure

PREREQUISITES:

  • Working knowledge of RUCKUS wireless and wired products and technologies
  • Working knowledge of RUCKUS network management solutions

This course is for CommScope Employees, Partners, Systems Engineers (SEs) and end Customers who needs detailed technical information about the administration and the implementation of RUCKUS ICX family of switches
