RUCKUS helps bring more availability and reliability to New Jersey’s biggest county

Burlington-County-Case-Study-Main

As the largest county in the state, Burlington County consists of 827 square miles in southern New Jersey with 92 public buildings across three cities, six boroughs and 31 townships. In these county facilities, the Systems Section of Information Technology is responsible for the connectivity of more than 150 physical and virtual servers, 1,000 computers and 2,500 users for an always-available Wi-Fi® network.

Maintaining this vast wireless network was a constant challenge. Budgets were tight. Keeping an eye on the entire network was difficult. And when portions of the network went down, getting quick product support to offer guidance was impossible.

Fortunately—thanks to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)—Burlington County secured funds to upgrade their entire network to Wi-Fi 6. By switching to RUCKUS® Network solutions, they were able to boost network throughput, increase network stability, get fast product support for any device and manage the entire network from a single pane of glass.

“We don’t have the network outages we used to have,” said Kevin Savage, Burlington County’s director of information technology. “It seemed like all we ever did [before] was put out fires. Instead of being a reactive force of work over here, now, we’re actually being proactive.”
